 Who is AALTRA?

Australasian Animal Law Teachers’ and Researchers’ Association

The Australasian Animal Law Teachers’ and Researchers’ Association Inc (AALTRA) was registered as an Incorporated Association in NSW in 2020. Its members comprise individuals whose work or research demonstrates an interest in improving animal wellbeing by means of animal law teaching, animal law research or animal law practice.

What do we do?

AALTRA provides a platform for advancing animal law teaching, animal law research and animal law scholarship in universities and the broader community. The Association is focused on improving animal wellbeing through law, policy and education.

AALTRA promotes co-operation and exchange of ideas between animal law teachers, animal law scholars and animal law researchers. The Association’s work involves contributing to law reform consultations, hosting academic events, and facilitating discussion and collaboration amongst the Australasian animal law community.
